How Might We
Design a safer and more efficient herb-cutting tool that minimizes the risk of accidents and cross-contamination.

I noted a potential safety hazard associated with the use of scissors with pointed blades.

Cleaning the scissors is risky due to the blade's long length.

The coating on the scissors seemed to cause herbs to adhere to the blades.
Problem Statement
Inspired by the precision and functionality of cigar cutters, how might we design an innovative herb cutter that minimizes hand fatigue, enhances control, and reduces accidents, ensuring a safer and more effortless cooking experience.

The cavity provided additional space, allowing more herbs to be held comfortably, but using the thumb required extra force when cutting tougher ingredients.
The blades are securely enclosed within the frame, allowing efficient chopping but the smaller surface area limits the amount of herbs that can be held at once.

This solution features a secured blade and less hand fatigue, but it not portable.
It features a single-action motion for effortless cutting but requires a stable surface, such as a cutting board, for effective use.

The final solution is more convenient and efficient, as it features a spring that enhances motion while the entire hand is used for stapling.
This solution is secure and ensures smooth motion.
